Herbs and their benefits to hair

Many times our my clients and friends ask me about the herbs which are good for hair. I say a long list, and smile, as there are uncountable number of herbs available which have several benefits to hair as well as body.

Today we are going to tell you about some of the key herbs, which are very well known for their benefits to hair. We are going to tell you about what exact benefits these herbs have when used properly. 

1. Henna : Henna also known as Lawsonia Inermis, is a natural plant having enormous benefits to hair. It is a natural dye plant, which gives a natural color to hair without any harm. Apart from coloring it also gives a cooling and conditioning effect to hair. Henna, as a deep conditioner, coats the hair shaft, seals in moisture, tightens the cuticle, increases luster and makes hair silky soft. 

2. Amla : Amla is also known as Emblica officinalis or Phyllanthus emblica. it is an excellent hair conditioning herb, which provides pure nourishment that penetrates the scalp and strengthens hair at its root level to promote stronger, healthier, new growth and help with hair loss by normalizing blood supply.

3. Aritha (Reetha) : Aritha, also known as Sapindus mukorrosi,and Soapnut, is an excellent herb for hair. It is well known for its benefits for healthy hair and scalp. It is being used for centuries now as an anti hair loss shampoo. Its natural antifungal and antibacterial properties help with dandruff and dirt on the hair. The natural saponins not only cleanse hair, they add body and sheen and make hair feel thicker, silky and smooth.

4. Shikakai : Shikakai, also known as Acacia concinna, is referred to as "fruit for the hair." The leaves of Indigo Plant are harvested, dried, and ground into a powder that contains a deep blue dye used for centuries in textiles, arts, and as a natural jet black hair colorant. Indigo combined with henna can produce rich deep dark brown to even black shades depending on the proportions of henna and indigo.

12. Aloe Vera : Aloe vera, is also known as Aloe barbadensis. It makes hair manageable, smoother, silkier, and healthier. Aloe conditions, moisturises and creates a smooth shine in any type of hair. Many people use the shampoo made of aloe vera to get its benefits. Its powder can also be used to get its benefits on hair and skin.

13. Cassia Obovata (Neutral Henna) : Neutral Henna also known as Cassia Obovata or senna is known as a colourless cosmetic. Neutral Henna gives softness and natural conditioning to hair.
